Q: What to do when hard drive is full?

When the ASUSTOR NAS hard disk is full, you can take the following simple steps to deal with the problem:

  1. Clean out the Recycle Bin : Check to see if your NAS has a recycle bin, like the trash can on your computer. If it does, check to see if there are any files in it that you no longer need, and then delete them permanently, which will free up some space.
  2. Clear Snapshot Files : If you use the Snapshot feature to back up your files, check the Snapshot history and clear the unwanted snapshots. This will free up space, but do it carefully to avoid losing important snapshots.
  3. Replace your hard disk with a larger capacity hard disk and do an online capacity migration
