Using AiSecure on your mobile devices

  1. Learn how to use AiSecure to view live cameras and play camera recordings.
  2. Learn how to control PTZ cameras and receive Surveillance Center push notifications on AiSecure.

1. Installing AiSecure and connecting to ASUSTOR NAS

AiSecure allows you to easily keep an eye on everything that is happening at home. In addition to monitoring live views of particular locations, AiSecure also features instant push notifications that can be sent to your mobile device when specified events occur, allowing you to grasp all the latest developments in the palm of your hand.

Please be sure that Surveillance Center has been installed and enabled on your NAS. Please click here to learn how to install Surveillance Center and set up cameras.

AiSecure is available for both iOS and Android. In this course we will be using the Android version of AiSecure as an example.


1.1 Installing AiSecure


STEP 1

  • Search AiSecure on Google Play or the apple app Store.
  • QR code shortcuts are below.
  • Download and install the app.

1.2 Connect to your NAS using AiSecure

After installing AiSecure, there are a variety of ways to sign in to the ASUSTOR NAS from AiSecure.


If using AiSecure for the first time:

Please ensure Wi-Fi on your device is turned on. Your NAS will not appear if it is not on the same network.

  • Click to the right of Host/IP or Cloud ID to open the server list.
  • Select your NAS.
  • Enter the ADM account and password, and click Login.
  • If your NAS cannot be found in the list, click to reattempt to find your NAS.


  • Enter the IP address, DDNS domain or Cloud ID of your NAS to connect.
  • Enter the ADM account and password.
  • If using an IP address or DDNS, click Advanced and enter the correct ADM HTTP or HTTPS port.
  • Click Login.


If you have installed other ASUSTOR mobile apps and signed in to your NAS:

  • The new ASUSTOR mobile apps share mobile login data with other ASUSTOR mobile apps by default to make using ASUSTOR mobile apps easy. This can be turned off.


  • Click to the right of Host/IP or Cloud ID to open the server list.
  • Select your previously-signed-in NAS or one of the NAS devices located in the same network of your mobile device.
  • Enter the ADM account and password, and click Login.


Note: It is recommended to enable the EZ-Connect service and use Cloud ID to sign in.



1.3 Share login info and manage server list

The new ASUSTOR mobile apps share mobile login data with other ASUSTOR mobile apps by default to make using ASUSTOR mobile apps easy. This can be turned off.


  • Click to the right of Host/IP or Cloud ID to open the server list.
  • Click on .
  • Login synchronization can be enabled or disabled here.
  • Select a saved server and click to remove login information.



1.4 Waking your NAS with AiSecure

After logging in to your NAS with AiSecure, you'll be able to wake up your NAS both within and outside your local network, provided settings are set correctly. Click here to read more about Wake on LAN (WOL) and Wake on LAN (WOW) support.


  • Click to the right of Host/IP or Cloud ID to open the server list.
  • Click to wake a selected NAS.
  • Your NAS will need time to wake up. Please wait before attempting to log into your NAS.




2. Viewing and Controlling Cameras

Users can enable or disable their remote IP cameras through AiSecure directly. AiSecure allows users to decide when they want to turn on or off their camera to protect personal privacy and save video storage space. AiSecure has done this to enhance operational convenience.


After using AiSecure to connect to your NAS, click on [Cameras] to enable or disable cameras.




2.1 Viewing Camera Live Views

Click on [Live View] to view cameras managed by Surveillance Center on a phone or tablet.

AiSecure will, by default, display two live views in portrait mode and display four camera live views in landscape mode. Swipe left or right on your screen to switch between different cameras.





2.2 Controlling Cameras

Click on or double-click the live view area on the screen to switch between multiple cameras and a single camera. Swipe left or right on the screen to switch between different cameras as well as to perform PTZ control, two-way audio communication, manual recording and take snapshots. Features such as PTZ, two-way audio, and camera presets vary by camera.



  1. Manual Recording: Click to control the camera for the purposes of starting or stopping a recording. Recordings will be stored in the NAS folder set by Surveillance Center.
  2. Snapshot: Click to take a snapshot of the current camera and the captured image file will be stored in your phone or tablet.
  3. Mute or Unmute: If an audio stream is enabled on a camera, click this icon to mute or unmute camera audio.
  4. PTZ: If a camera supports PTZ, click this icon to display the PTZ control interface.

  5. PTZ preset point: If a camera supports PTZ control point settings, click this icon to display the PTZ preset point interface. Clicking a different preset point will control the camera to rotate to the position set by the preset point. The PTZ preset point needs to be set in the settings page provided by the camera.


  • Digital zoom: When viewing a single camera, double click to digitally zoom in. Use two fingers to zoom in and out as well as to move the screen to the desired viewing position.




3. Playing Back Recordings

Click on [Playback] to play back the recordings on a phone or tablet.


  • Select a camera here.


  • Click on a date to select a date to play recordings.


Date icons on the calendar look like these:

  • : Blue indicates that there are recordings stored on your NAS for playback on that date.
  • : Gold indicates that there are recordings on a selected date. The icon will appear in the upper right corner.


  • Click to start playing the earliest recording on that date.



  1. Previous recording: Click to play back a previous recording.
  2. Play or Pause: Play or pause a recording.
  3. Next recording: Click to play the next recording.
  4. Timeline zoom: The default timeline scale is thirty minutes. Click this icon to zoom the timeline scale to as low as five minutes.

  5. Playback speed: Click to change the playback speed of a recording.

  6. Snapshot: Click to take a snapshot image of the currently playing recording, and the captured image file will be stored in the mobile device.

  • Drag the timeline to change playback time of a recording.



  • Digital zoom: Double-click on the video playback screen to digitally zoom in. Use 2 fingers to zoom in and out of the live view or move the screen to the desired viewing location.




4. Viewing Surveillance Center Events

Click on [Events] to view push notifications received and all event logs of Surveillance Center here.



  • If Surveillance Center is set to start recording video for a specific event, the playback option will be enabled for these kind of events. Click to play back event recordings directly.


  • Click to search logs for a specific camera, date, and specific event here.




5. Additional notes

Click on [More] to set up more options.



  • Push Notifications: Push notifications can be enabled and disabled here.
  • Keep Original Aspect Ratio: Enable to keep the original aspect ratio of the camera live views.
  • Keep Screen on When in Live View: Enable to keep the mobile device screen on when viewing camera live views. Enabling this option will cause the phone to consume more battery. The default setting is off.
  • Camera Name: Displays camera name in an overlay in the live view.
  • Frame Rate: Displays the current frame rate in an overlay in the live view.
  • Transcoding Settings: Enable to transcode videos bigger than the option set here. Surveillance Center will transcode video and stream to your mobile device. The default setting is off.


  • AiSecure makes it easy to obtain technical support. Click "Contact support" located in the settings page, or click More to find the option to contact support. Ensure you are signed in to be able to provide relevant information in your support ticket.
