Taipei, Taiwan, February 25th, 2014 – ASUSTOR Inc., a leading innovator and provider of network storage solutions, has announced that all of its NAS devices (2, 3 and 6 Series) will be upgrading to the ASUSTOR Data Master (ADM) 2.1 operating system. ADM 2.1 expands the core functionality of the system and includes upgrades to built-in Apps such as Storage Manager and File Explorer along with newly expanded support for Bluetooth devices. Furthermore, a number of in-house developed Apps have been added to ASUSTOR's App lineup that are sure to please both business and home users alike.

“We are very excited to be launching ADM 2.1 with special attention to feedback and suggestions we have been constantly receiving,” said Steve Huang, Product Manager at ASUSTOR. “ADM 2.1 introduces some truly unique functions developed by ASUSTOR. We hope our users will enjoy these new functions and upgrades as we continue to introduce new innovations to all our products.”

ADM 2.1 introduces upgrades to the core applications of the operating system including File Explorer which now features thumbnail previews along with the My Computer function which gives users the ability to view the file directories of both their NAS and computer from the File Explorer window and transfer files between the two via drag and drop. Also being introduced with ADM 2.1 is the innovative MyArchive function which has been exclusively developed by ASUSTOR. MyArchive allows users to use their hard disks as removable storage archives. Users will be able to plug in archives to their NAS at any time for instant access and be able to remove them for storage when not in use. This lets users organize different data collections (e.g., movies, music and photos) and swap between them as the need arises. This also helps to save power and prolong the life of hard disks as they will not have to be always powered on.

Additionally, also being introduced is a new VPN Server App which allows  business users to easily create secure connections to company servers and resources. As well, users who like to save online videos for offline viewing will find a lot to like with the new Takeasy App. Takeasy lets users conveniently download online videos and playlists to their NAS while web browsing.

With regards to mobile apps, ASUSTOR will be introducing the AiMusic app for both Android and iOS devices. AiMusic allows users to stream music from their NAS to their mobile devices and also download songs for offline listening. Last but not least, ASUSTOR will also be releasing Download Center Helper, an add-on for FireFox and Chrome browsers. Download Center Helper allows users to download content straight to their NAS while browsing the web.
