ASUSTOR announces the official launch of Linux Center. ASUSTOR NAS users can now run the native Linux® system on their NAS, enjoying the rich variety of Linux® apps. Linux Center features easy installation without extra configurations and compatibility with HDMI output. It effectively turns the NAS into a computer with unlimited possibilities.
Taipei, Taiwan, September 14th, 2017 – ASUSTOR Inc., a leading innovator and provider of network storage solutions, has announced the official launch of Linux Center for ASUSTOR NAS devices. ASUSTOR has utilized virtualization technology to integrate its NAS operating system with Linux®, allowing ASUSTOR NAS to become the most complete secondary development and application solution for the IoT (Internet of Things) era. All ASUSTOR NAS users are invited to experience this lightweight virtual environment along with its rich variety of apps.

- Flexible use of the Linux® App: The native Linux® system can be directly run on ASUSTOR NAS. This is convenient for developers and users who wish to utilize Linux® for development purposes and also allows them to make use of the rich variety of app resources provided by Linux®.
- Easy installation with just one touch: Linux Center supports Debian 8 Desktop and Debian 8 Server. Users can download and install the Linux® system by simply clicking on the installation button without needing any other extra configurations.
- HDMI output on command: ASUSTOR NAS’s HDMI function can be utilized to display Linux Center’s interface on any compatible monitor for development purposes and to make use of the rich variety of Linux® apps, allowing users to create their own Linux® virtual space.
- Supported models: Linux Center is available for use on AS31/32, AS50/51, AS61/62/63/64 and AS70 series devices. It is recommended to be used with at least 4GB of RAM.
