Controlling ASUSTOR Portal

Learn how to control ASUSTOR Portal with the ASUSTOR Remote Control and AiRemote.

1. Using the ASUSTOR Remote Control


Note: Please make sure that ASUSTOR Portal has been installed on your NAS. Please refer to here for installing ASUSTOR Portal.


  • Click on [Settings] [Hardware], and click on [Enable infrared receiver] to make sure that NAS can receive signals from ASUSTOR Remote Control.

  • Note:
    The ASUSTOR Remote Control is suitable for use with AS-2TE/ AS-3/AS-6* series devices and AS31/32/50/51/52/53/61/62/63/64/66/70 series devices.
    If you wish to purchase an ASUSTOR Remote Control you may do so from your local ASUSTOR distributor or from the official ASUSTOR Accessories Store: [AS-RC13]. (AS-RC10 has been EOL)


    *AS-6 series users will need to purchase an additional infrared receiver in order to use the ASUSTOR Remote Control.




    2. Using AiRemote


    Note: Please make sure that ASUSTOR Portal has been installed on your NAS. Please refer to here for installing ASUSTOR Portal.


    2.1 Installing AiRemote and connecting to your ASUSTOR NAS

    STEP 1

    • Locate and install AiRemote by scanning the QR codes below or by searching for AiRemote in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

    STEP 2

    • After installation has completed, open AiRemote on your mobile device.
    • AiRemote will now scan your local network for ASUSTOR NAS devices. Select the NAS of your choice to connect to it.
      (You can also select [Connect via IP] and directly enter the LAN IP address of the NAS you wish to connect to).

    Note: Please turn on the Wi-Fi of the mobile devices and make sure that the NAS and the mobile devices are connected to the same network (LAN).



    2.2 Basic modes of operation for AiRemote

    AiRemote has two basic modes of operation:

    • Remote Mode:

      Remote Mode functions much the same as a regular remote control, using the up, down, left, right and OK buttons to control ASUSTOR Portal.

    • Touchpad Mode:

      Touchpad mode functions much the same as a touchpad on a laptop computer. It comes complete with simulated left and right mouse buttons that allow you to intuitively control ASUSTOR Portal.

    2.3 AiRemote functionality with Chrome/Firefox

    When using the Chrome or Firefox web browser, switching to AiRemote’s Touchpad Mode will provide you with a more intuitive usage experience. The graphic below illustrates the key functions when using Touchpad mode with Chrome/Firefox.



  • You can swipe left and right on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen to reveal more functions, including the keyboard input. Additional functions that are also offered when using Chrome/Firefox are illustrated in the graphic below.
