1. Installing AiVideos and connecting to ASUSTOR NAS

The release of the tvOS and Android TV version of AiVideos allows you to enjoy unparalleled digital entertainment at home. You can download AiVideos via Apple TV or Android TV (Google TV) and enjoy the video collection from your NAS on your big screen. Get ready for a high definition home theater experience like no other.

Please be sure that LooksGood has been installed and enabled on your NAS. Please click here to learn how to install LooksGood and set up libraries.


1.1 Installing AiVideos


Before using AiVideos on Apple TV, please confirm the following:

  • Your NAS has been updated to ADM 3.0 or above.
  • You are using a fourth generation Apple TV or above.
  • Your Apple TV has already been set up.

Apple TV:

  • Turn on your Apple TV.
  • Select App Store and search for AiVideos.
  • Press install.


Google TV (Android TV):

  • Turn on your Google TV.
  • Search AiVideos on Apps.
  • Download and install the app.



1.2 Connect to your NAS using AiVideos

After installing AiVideos, there are a variety of ways to sign in to the ASUSTOR NAS from AiVideos.


Apple TV:

Upon logging in for the first time. AiVideos will automatically search for existing NAS devices within your network. The IP address of the NAS will be listed. Click on the IP address that corresponds to your NAS device and enter the password when prompted. If your NAS device doesn't appear, you may manually input the IP address and password on the left as shown below.


  • Open AiVideos.
  • Input NAS device IP address or URL.
    E.g.: 192.16.x.xxx or yourCloudID.myasustor.com
  • Input NAS password.
  • Click Login.


After logging in for the first time, AiVideos will remember your NAS and list it on the right, under Server List.

You will be able to select [Login], [Load] or [delete].



If using AiVideos for the first time:

Please ensure the network on your Google TV is turned on. Your NAS will not appear if it is not on the same network.

  • Click [Server List] to open the server list.
  • Select your NAS.
  • Enter the ADM account and password, and click Login.


  • Enter the IP address, DDNS domain or Cloud ID of your NAS to connect.
  • Enter the ADM account and password.
  • If using an IP address or DDNS, click [Custom Setup] and enter the correct ADM HTTP or HTTPS port.
  • Click Login.


If you have signed in to your NAS:

  • Click [Server List] to open the server list.
  • Select your previously-signed-in NAS or one of the NAS devices located in the same network of your Google TV.
  • Enter the ADM account and password, and click Login.




2. Smart Video Management

The all-new AiVideos brings a newly redesigned user interface. AiVideos now prominently displays posters for select movies and TV shows, while Media Explorer makes finding and selecting videos easier, making AiVideos easier than ever.

AiVideos synchronizes your data on the NAS with the LooksGood app installed on your NAS. To manage your collection, please use LooksGood.

After using AiVideos to connect to your NAS, click Movies to browse all movies added to LooksGood on your ASUSTOR NAS.


TV Shows:

After using AiVideos to connect to your NAS, click TV Shows to browse all TV Shows added to LooksGood on your ASUSTOR NAS.


Media Explorer:

After using AiVideos to connect to your NAS, click Media Explorer to browse videos in all shared folders on your NAS.

3. Media Player Introduction

AiVideos can directly stream videos on Apple TV or Google TV with a built-in video player.

Note: The videos with Dolby or DTS audio codec are not supported. Please select other audio channels to play if there are multiple audio channels available.


Apple TV:


If your video has subtitles, please confirm that your subtitle files are in the same folder with the same name. During playback, slide down the remote control panel, and select the subtitle options. From there, select the subtitle file and press OK.



Google TV (Android TV):



  1. This icon will appear if the video supports subtitles. Select subtitles for a video here.

  2. This icon will appear if the video supports various audio tracks. Select an audio track for a video here.

  3. Select different video playback speeds here.
  4. This icon will appear if the video supports various resolutions. Select video resolution here.
  5. Displays the playnow list. Adjust playback order here.

  • Please use official Google TV remotes only.

  • Using the Android phone's Google TV app.
