ASUSTOR NAS Devices Not Affected by OpenSSL Heartbleed Bug


Taipei, Taiwan, April 17th 2014 – ASUSTOR Inc. has announced that its products are not affected by the CVE-2014-0160 OpenSSL Heartbleed bug because ASUSTOR’s ADM operating system does not utilize the version of OpenSSL that is associated with the vulnerability. All ASUSTOR users can rest assured and can continue to safely use their ASUSTOR NAS devices. SSL is a cryptographic protocol which provides communication security and privacy over the Internet. OpenSSL is an open-source implementation of the protocol that widely used in applications such as web, email, instant messaging and some virtual private networks.
