    Manage your files

    File Explorer comes pre-installed with ADM and can be used to browse and manage the files on your NAS. It is able to display all directories and files found on your storage volumes. No matter if the task is uploading, downloading, moving, copying, compressing, decompressing or ISO file mounting, all of these tasks and more can be done from within File Explorer.

    Web access

    File Explorer is also able to facilitate file sharing over the Web. An internet connection and a Web browser are all you need. Users on the NAS simply need to open ADM in their favorite Web browser to begin sharing, uploading and downloading files with File Explorer.

    Share Links

    Share Links lets you instantly create download links for files that you want to share, allowing you to share files with people who don't have accounts on the NAS. Expiry dates can also be set for each Share Link that you create, allowing for safe and flexible management.When you have multiple files that you wish to share, you can choose to share them via a single Share Link for all the files or via individual Share Links for each individual file.

    Task Monitor

    File Explorer's Task Monitor helps you to easily monitor the status of uploads and downloads. Task Monitor also breaks through the 2GB file size upload limit found on most web browsers giving you the freedom to upload much larger files.

    External Optical Drive Support

    After connecting an external optical drive (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) to your NAS via USB, you can use File Explorer to directly access any files that you have backed up to optical media and even transfer files from your optical media to your NAS via drag and drop for future access.

    Note:
    1. This function only provides data access and does not support the audio and video playback of optical media.
    2. Certain optical drives will require additional power in order to operate properly. If you find that your optical drive is not spinning or reading correctly, please use a USB Y-cable to add additional power.

    Play videos with ADM File Explorer

    Besides previewing images and audio, now you can intuitively use the preview function to play videos when browsing through multimedia files with ADM File Explorer.Is this convenient, or what?

    When your friend or colleague receives a share link, he/she can see the shared files/folders list with just one click and select only the needed files to download. This makes file sharing more intuitive and flexible.

    Browse and Access MyArchive Snapshots and EZ Sync Files

    File Explorer has been upgraded browse more diversified data sources. In addition to MyArchive snapshots, historic versions of files are easily accessible through File Explorer to quickly restore previous versions. EZ Sync support has also been added to File Explorer to make files directly accessible. With File Explorer, files and folders can be dragged and dropped directly to and from EZ Sync folders, making EZ Sync easier than ever to use.

    All New Share Links – Send and Receive Data from Family and Friends

    Share links have been improved! Not only can NAS data be shared with others for downloading, but new share links can be set to allow uploading files to enable friends, family and clients to share files to you! An account is not required and share links remain restricted only to where you allow uploads to be placed. Use share links on ADM 4.2 to conveniently share files from and to your ASUSTOR NAS.

    Easily View Office Documents Online

    New to ADM 4.2.2 is the ability to view documents, spreadsheets and presentations directly in your web browser with File Explorer. EZ-Connect is required to preview Office documents, spreadsheets and slideshow presentations online. Use Google Docs or Microsoft Office Online to view documents, spreadsheets or slideshow presentations directly on a web browser.


    The supported file formats are as follows:
    • Google Docs: doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx, pdf, tif
    • Microsoft Office Online: docx, dotx, xlsx, xlsb, xls, xlsm, pptx, ppsx, ppt, pps
