    Local Users Management

    ADM is a system built on the Linux kernel with built-in management for local users and groups. System administrators can easily create, edit, or remove any or all ASUSTOR NAS user accounts in Access Control, while also grouping individual users into different and custom groups. A group can set multiple types of rights for all users in a group making for efficient management. Individual user access permissions for shared folders and NAS apps can also be configured to ensure maximum data protection.
    When accessing shared folders on an ASUSTOR NAS using SMB or other services, a local user account and password are required for authentication and various user accounts can access different shared folders depending on their configured permissions.

    Enhanced ADM Account Password Rules

    ADM now supports new account password strength and rule settings. System administrators can enable password rules to enforce the strength and complexity of all user passwords as well as set password expiration limits to require regular password updates to reduce the risk of compromise. ADM also improves the password reset mechanism. When system administrators or users forget their passwords, authentication is required to reset the password, enhancing ADM system account security.
