<h4><a name="aid1"></a>1. Installing AiData and connecting to ASUSTOR NAS</h4>
AiData brings access to your NAS’s files to your smartphone or tablet. AiData helps you browse and manage files on your NAS directly from your phone or tablet. AiData also supports file sharing, making it easy to share files right from your smartphone and tablet, bringing your data to your fingertips.
AiData is available for both iOS and Android. In this course we will be using the Android version of AiData as an example.

<a name="aid12"></a>1.2 Connect to your NAS using AiData
After installing AiData, there are a variety of ways to sign in to the ASUSTOR NAS from AiData.
 
 If using AiData for the first time:
 Please ensure Wi-Fi on your device is turned on. Your NAS will not appear if it is not on the same network.

<li>Select your NAS.</li>
<li>Enter the ADM account and password, and click Login.</li>
<li>If your NAS cannot be found in the list, click <img src="https://www.asustor.com/images/tinymce/upload_img_20220916173243_Server_list_refresh_dark_icon.png" width="25" height="25" alt="" /> to reattempt to find your NAS.</li>

<li>Enter the ADM account and password.</li>
<li>If using an IP address or DDNS, click Advanced and enter the correct ADM HTTP or HTTPS port.</li>

 If you have installed other ASUSTOR mobile apps and signed in to your NAS:

<li>The new ASUSTOR mobile apps share mobile login data with other ASUSTOR mobile apps by default to make using ASUSTOR mobile apps easy. This can be turned off.</li>

 Note: It is recommended to enable the EZ-Connect service and use Cloud ID to sign in.

The new ASUSTOR mobile apps share mobile login data with other ASUSTOR mobile apps by default to make using ASUSTOR mobile apps easy. This can be turned off.

<a name="aid14"></a>1.4 Waking your NAS with AiData
After logging in to your NAS with AiData, you'll be able to wake up your NAS both within and outside your local network, provided settings are set correctly. Click <a href="https://www.asustor.com/solution/wake_on_wan#wow" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a> to read more about Wake on LAN (WOL) and Wake on LAN (WOW) support.

<h4><a name="aid2"></a>2. Accessing data on an ASUSTOR NAS</h4>
In addition to browsing files in an ASUSTOR NAS with a web browser, shared folders are directly accessible on your phone or tablet through AiData. Mounted CIFS folders, USB external devices, MyArchive hard drives and EZ Sync synchronization data are all supported and can be easily accessed, moved or copied from within AiData.

After using AiData to connect to your NAS, click on Folders to browse all files with proper permissions in shared folders, CIFS folders, USB external devices and MyArchive hard drives on your ASUSTOR NAS.

AiData browses data in list mode by default. Click <img src="https://www.asustor.com/images/tinymce/upload_img_20230519170659_Grid_view_icon.png" width="25" height="25" alt="" /> to switch to grid mode.

AiData can directly browse images as well as stream music and videos on a phone or tablet with a built-in multimedia player.

AiData can browse downloaded files to your phone or tablet even when not connected to an ASUSTOR NAS. Click Downloaded to browse downloaded files on your phone or tablet offline.

After using AiData to connect to your NAS, click Tasks to view the file transfers as well as monitor tasks on your NAS.

 Upload, Download: Shows the status of in progress, completed, or failed file transfers.

<li>Run in background: When enabling this option, AiData will be allowed work in the background. This option will block battery optimization for AiData. This will cause continuous power consumption of the device. The default setting is off. Only for Android devices.

<li>Only use Wi-Fi and Ethernet for transfers: Options are available to only allow transfer files through Wi-Fi or Ethernet to avoid extra charges for mobile networks. The default setting is on.</li>
<li>Transfer Conflicts: Choices are available to skip, overwrite files or always ask when encountering the same file or folder name. The default setting is to always ask.

<li>Download directory: The default download folder on a phone or tablet can be changed here.</li>
<li>Appearance: AiData supports light and dark themes. Change settings for this here.

<li>Passcode lock: When passcode lock is enabled, you will need to enter a passcode before being able to use the app to connect to your NAS. Biometrics is another way ASUSTOR apps for phones and tablets use to properly authenticate you. Using biometrics to unlock ASUSTOR apps for phones and tablets is faster and safer and significantly enhances mobile privacy while ensuring that access to your NAS and personal data does not fall into the wrong hands.
