The UPnP Media Server V2/ MiniDLNA Apps can turn your NAS into your home’s multimedia streaming server. As long as you have devices that support UPnP V2 or mini DLNA (for example, LG, Samsung, SONY BRAVIA TV or PlayStation5® Or previous PlayStation3 and 4®), you can directly browse and stream the pictures, music and videos stored on your NAS.Additionally, you can use UPnP/DLNA compatible applications on your mobile device (for example, a notebook, iPhone or iPad) to stream multimedia files from your NAS.

Note: UPnP V2 Media Server is only responsible for streaming to compatible devices. The media formats that are playable may vary depending on the device.
In the following example we will demonstrate how to use UPnP V2 AV Media Server with a PlayStation 3. The set up process that we are about to show you should be similar for all UPnP compatible devices.
STEP 1
Install the UPnP Media Server V2 App from App Central.
STEP 2
Open UPnP Media Server V2 and set up a sharing folder. To do this, click on the [Create] button under the Sharing folder heading. Sharing folders will be used to store any pictures, movies or music that you want streamed to your UPnP compatible devices. In the graphic below you can see that we have setup a shared folder named “MyMedia” with a directory path mapped to the “Media” folder on the NAS.
STEP 3
Add any pictures, movies or music that you want to stream to the directory path of the sharing folder (in our case, the “Media” folder on the NAS). In the graphic below, you will be able to see the contents that we have added to our “Media” folder.
STEP 4
Turn on the PlayStation 3. Please make sure that it is connected to your network. Navigate to either the picture, movie, or music icon of the PlayStation 3 menu and you should be able to see the name of your NAS listed underneath. In the graphic below you can see that we have navigated to the movie icon and found the name of our NAS.
STEP 5
You should now be able to navigate to your sharing folder and access its contents.
STEP 6
Select any files of your choice to stream and view.

Navigate to the Home Dashboard of the LG TV menu and you should be able to see the name of your NAS listed underneath. In the graphic below you can see that we have navigated to the Home Dashboard of the LG TV menu and found the name of our NAS.
Install the MiniDLNA App from App Central.
Open MiniDLNA and set up a sharing folder. To do this, click on the [Create] button under the Sharing folder heading.
