0. Preface
This course will use a NAS with two 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports to demonstrate how you can speed up transfers to your NAS.
Before starting, ensure your client device and NAS have two Ethernet ports as well as a network switch.
1. Using SMB Multichannel
1.1 Enabling SMB Multichannel
Log into your ADM using your web browser.
Open Services and click on SMB.
Select Enable SMB Multichannel and click on Apply.

After setting up, it should work automatically on Windows.
2. Important notes
A. This feature only allows for combining the Ethernet ports of the same speed and type on a device. Different devices can use different speeds of Ethernet, but two different speeds on the same device cannot be used. If the NAS and client use different speeds of NICs, the slowest speed will be used.
B. It is not possible to use one higher speed Ethernet port on a device to attain higher speeds on a device using multiple slower Ethernet ports. You have to use the same number of Ethernet ports across devices. For example, one 10GbE card on a PC cannot be used to get 5 Gbps of performance on a NAS with dual 2.5GbE ports.
C. Combine three ports or even four ports on supported PCs and NAS devices to get triple or quadruple speeds.
